What You Need To  Know...

I'm just gonna tell it like it is...The recipes I have created for PURE 10 aren't my tastiest recipes... They are better than tasty because they are like delicious medicinal foods that promote the results you crave most.

 

Honestly there is nothing I love more than being able to pour on the salt, bring on the chocolate and blanket my food with delicious sauces, marinades and dressings made from the good, bad and ugly fats. BUT ... I always pay a price when I do. And once I open the door to chocolate or hot bread out of the oven with butter, I become a hot mess, food addict once again!

 

Periodic cleanses remedy that within days and land me back in balance and motivated to eat to nourish and heal rather than to soothe and amuse.

The carefully crafted recipes I have designed with my over 25 years experience writing healthy cookbooks, teaching and coaching will take you on a radical departure.  The recipes that go along with The PURE 10 Challenge are some of my healthiest, purest and most impactful recipes in regards to weight loss, boosting immunity and reducing inflammation. These recipes are made using specific foods as medicine and the result is in how great you feel in just a few days.

Along with feeling great, there are days when detox happens. And depending on the toxic load you are carrying when starting, you might feel things like headaches, bad breath, excess mucus, stomach aches, coated tongue, tired, diarrhea, constipation or even at times... so wide awake you are up until the wee hours of the night or rise extra early with too much energy to sleep! 

 

Typically these cleansing symptoms don't last long and show the power of using food as medicine in the process of healing and regeneration.

Let’s get down to the heart of the matter of this challenge…

We are removing the troublemakers:

  • all processed foods 

  • sugar

  • alcohol

  • caffeine

  • dairy

  • animal products 

  • salt (maybe a pinch here and there)!!!         

 

Yes these are somewhat of a challenge (especially minimal salt), but not if you are serious & seasoned at doing periodic cleanses.

We will practice daily intermittent fasting and if that is not right for you, then you can skip it. It doesn't matter if you do it perfectly. It is more important to eat PURE to balance blood sugar and decrease inflammation.

 

We are also increasing the amount of raw food to 50-75% while decreasing cooked foods.

 

Not a deal breaker as we are only talking about TEN days (for heaven’s sake!!!)… Or longer if you are on a roll, feeling amazing and just don’t want to stop!

The real challenge is…

Removing radical fats and the combination of eating them with carbs.

 

Any food that derives the majority of its calories from fat is considered to be a radical fat, according to Anthony William in his book CLEANSE TO HEAL.

 

Although I don’t agree with everything Anthony William espouses, apparently, insulin resistance and high cholesterol both seem to be related to the combo of carbs/sugars with fats!

 

In The Starch Solution by Dr. McDougall he also lays out a similar solution. Both are addressing the cause of so many illnesses and disorders that stem from the foods we eat and specifically the misuse and consequences of fats.

 

Avocado on toast, pasta with garlic butter, baked potato with butter, chicken with rice, salad dressing with potatoes, fruit with nuts, dairy with fruit, butter and bread, pizza… Do you see the connection? The list goes on and this way of eating is engrained. 

I am grateful to both William and McDougall for their enlightening information. 

 

I love the results of removing the trouble maker foods and radical fats and know this is the wisest and most doable way to go about giving the liver a cleanse.
